Dice Games You’ll Love Playing

With so much technology that is around us today, such as tablets, smartphones, and video game consoles, sometimes it’s better to kick back, relax, and enjoy a memorable night by going back to the basics. Because after all, fun and excitement don’t have to be connected to a smartphone or television, right? Whether you’re bringing people together for a family night or hanging with your friends in a local pub. You can trust that a beautiful set of dice can open up a whole new world of fun and exciting gaming experience. That’s why today, we are going to talk about some of the best dice games that you can play anywhere with your friends.

Bar Dice

Also known as Ship, Captain, Crew, this game is played with six-sided dice. You don’t have to play this game at the bar, but you need as many friends or family as possible to play this game with.

How It’s Played

In a game of bar dice, every player takes turns rolling their dice to accumulate points or out-do their opponents. Everyone rolls five dice at a time and has three shakes to collect points. When rolling the dice, you need to look for three numbers, the ship, which is the number six, the captain, which is the number five, and the crew, which is the number 4. You need to have all these numbers before you can start earning points. In other words, you need to get a ship first, a captain, and a crew before sailing. Once you have all those numbers, you can start earning points from the last two dice in your roll, and the highest possible score is twelve.

And if you’re lucky to get your ship, captain, and crew on your first try, you get to have two more shakes to collect points. However, if you don’t get all three in your three rolls, you hand over the dice to the next player, and you don’t get any points for that round. Of course, the player with the highest points wins the game.

Bunco

Just like any other dice games, bunco is all about luck. The goal of the game is to roll the number that corresponds with the round you’re playing. For example, if you get up to around three, then you need to roll three 3’s. If you’re in the fourth round, then you need to have four 4’s. With every turn that you successfully had the number you need, you get a “Bunco.” Which means to a single point. The person who has the most points at the end of the game wins. Even if it seems that it’s simple, this game can be quite addictive over time, especially if you’re drinking with your friends.

Balut

This dice game is designed to be an alternative to poker when you don’t have any deck of cards, and you’re stuck with a bunch of dice. Just like any other game, there is a traditional set of rules for balut. However, most people like to create their own rules as they play along. That’s why balut became a favorite family game that changes depending on where you’re playing it and with whom.

How It’s Played

Technically, Balut asks for players to have a range of scoring combinations and assign points to those combinations. A player can also use the point strategy that is given by the traditional balut rules. One a player has his combos sorted out, all of the players in the group will roll a set of five dice in turns and taking note of how many points they’ve scored. The goal is to keep rolling until every possible scoring combination has shown up at least once. When it’s achieved, the person who has the highest score wins the game.

Dagz

This dice game can be played by two or four players, and each team gets four solid color dice to throw. You start the game by tossing the dice towards the other end of the board, where there is a raised wooden barrier that’s placed in front of a hole. Dagz is played until 21 points, and a player must win by two. Bar versions of Dagz come in custom-crafted basin tables, and it is usually played like the foosball and pool in pubs or game rooms.

Liar’s Dice

This is one of the most popular dice games in the world, thanks to the movie Pirates of the Caribbean. To play Liar’s Game, you will need a set of five dice and a cup to play so that you can conceal your rolls from other players.

How it’s Played

To play this game, everyone in the team must roll their dice at the start of the game. If a dice land on top of each other when you’re rolling, you will need to start again. After every player has successfully rolled their dice, they need to keep it hidden from other players. After that, they have to make bids about the value of the dice in the whole team. After each prediction, the team can either continue playing, or a player can challenge other players and call them a liar. If someone got challenged, all the dice on the table must be revealed.
